Grass cutting due to start next week

It’s that time of year again, and the grass is starting to grow. Wokingham Borough crews will start cutting the grass on Monday, so you may see them when you’re out and about in the borough.

Because of all the rain we’ve had this year, many of the open spaces are very wet, some waterlogged and some are even under water, but not all. The highway verges and open spaces on free draining soil are ready for their first cut.

The crews will start their regular rounds, but they will assess each area and decide if it’s appropriate to cut. If the ground is too wet, the heavy machinery would damage it, so they will skip those areas.

They will start in Wokingham, Hurst and Arborfield, and then go round the borough in this order: Twyford, Ruscombe, Winnersh, Remenham, Wargrave, Swallowfield, Finchampstead, Charvil, Sonning, Shinfield, Wokingham Without, Woodley, Earley and Barkham.
